About

Arquitis (“archer” in Latin) is an Independent Financial Adviser company, directly authorised by the FCA to provide financial planning advice on investments and pensions to UK customers. The company was set up by Edward and Katy Archer in May 2016 upon the decision of Argentis Financial Management Limited, with whom Edward has previously had a service contract, to engage all their advisers on an employed basis. Many thanks are due to Argentis for offering every assistance to enable a smooth transition for my clients, with the official launch on 1st January 2017.

Arquitis is owned by Edward and Katy Archer, with no other shareholders.

Advice is provided by Edward, with support in specialist areas (mortgages, long-term care, some specialist pensions work and trusts) from a range of other advisers ranging from other IFAs to lawyers and accountants. After university, Edward spent 10 years at HSBC, and 5 years looking after one family’s finances using financial advisers, before turning gamekeeper in 2001. Prior to Arquitis, he has worked at Hill Martin plc, AWD Chase de Vere and Argentis Financial Management Limited.

Administration is headed up by Edward’s wife Katy, who organises services from a number of different administrators across the country, selected depending on the needs of the individual client but universally with many years of experience. For those clients who have been with Edward at Argentis, the intention is that the advice process and results will be unchanged but that a significant investment into administration and specifically the use of technology will be helpful.

All other personnel are retained on a consultancy basis. On the regulatory side, compliance support is from Compliance and Training Solutions (CATS), Professional Indemnity insurance through IFAProsure in Southend, and our advice is covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

IT is provided by Sam Jones, who has held IT and marketing/social media roles for companies including Dyson and British Gas before becoming an independent consultant.

Marketing is provided by our existing clients. New clients come only from referrals from existing clients who like what we do and who are not paid for doing so. We do not pay introducers, nor ourselves are paid introducer fees, but ask any organisations to whom we may refer you to reduce their charges to you instead.
